Dr. Umar’s point in this clip isn’t about how much money a Black person has—it’s about dependence. 

His argument is that wealth doesn’t eliminate reliance on institutions you don’t own.  Even the wealthiest among us may still depend on systems built and controlled by others.

The question becomes: Is true power measured by individual wealth… or collective ownership? 

Whether you agree or disagree, it’s definitely a conversation worth having.
